History of Super Cup
Kuwait Super Cup is an official tournament held under the auspices of the Kuwait Football Association, which was launched in 2008. It is a one-match tournament between the winner of the Premier League and the winner of the Prince Cup (Amir Cup) from last season. Al-Arabi SC team was the champion of the first edition of the tournament, and in its third edition 2010, there was a change in the tournament system, where the match took place between the Super Cup holder, Al-Qadisiyah title, the winner of the Premier League and the Prince Cup (Amir Cup) and Kuwait SC, the winner of the Crown Prince Cup. It was repeated in its fifth edition 2012 also, where the match took place between the holder of the Al-Qadisiyah Super Cup, the winner of the Premier League, the Amir Cup, the Al-Arabi Cup, the Crown Prince Cup. It was repeated for the third time in the 11th edition 2018, where the match took place between Kuwait Super Cup winner, the Premier League’s winner and Amir Cup, and Al-Qadisiyah, the winner of the Crown Prince Cup. The first goal in this tournament was scored by Khaled Ahmed Khalaf, the player of Al Arabi Club.
